Senator contradicts his message in Craig
To the editor:
Although I personally did not take too much hope away from the meeting, I'm sure all of us who served in the military appreciated U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar and Rep. John Salazar coming to Craig on May 5 to speak to us regarding a Veterans Affairs medical facility in Northwest Colorado.
However, in the Denver Post article on May 7, "Colorado votes in Congress," Sen. Salazar voted against shifting money from AmeriCorps to VA medical care. I'm certain he can justify his vote, as politicians do. Sen. Allard voted "yes."
One more vote -- don't like gas prices? All our Democratic representatives in the House voted against expediting approval of permits for new refineries. Republicans voted "yes."
