The Craig Chamber of Commerce will lay out its goals for 2006 at its annual meeting today.
The meeting is from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Craig Holiday Inn, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.
Chamber Executive Director Christina Currie said the Cham--ber will announce its goals for 2006.
"I'm really excited about the upcoming year," Currie said. "I think that the changes the board is ready to enact will help members and the community realize what a valuable resource the Chamber is."
The Chamber's board of directors came up with the goals at a retreat last month, Currie said.
Last year, the Chamber's three goals were looking into affordable health care, beautification of Craig and improving member services.
The meeting is a chance for the Chamber to discuss with members what direction the organization will take next year, Currie said.
"This is basically our report to our shareholders," Currie said.
The Chamber also will present the Business of the Year and Sunshine awards.
The Sunshine Award is for an individual who has gone above and beyond improving the business environment in Craig, Currie said.
The meeting costs $15 to attend and is open to Chamber members and non-members.
Non-members often attend to see whether Chamber membership is for them, Currie said.
Anyone who wishes to attend can do so but is encouraged to RSVP before the meeting, Currie said.
