Children invited to ride

The Craig Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors is sponsoring the "Patriotic Kids" in the Grand Olde West Days parade May 27.

The event's description is Buggy, Bikes and Trikes (Kid Power). Ambassadors ask children to decorate their buggies, bikes and trikes with red, white and blue. All youths are invited to ride and should arrive at 4 p.m. at Seventh and Breeze streets for check-in. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. Call Gail at 824-9481.

Mortensens honored by Adams State College

Laurel Mortensen and Emily Mortensen, graduates of Moffat County High School in 2003 and 2001, respectively, were among Adams State College students honored at the annual academic awards presentation March 9.

Kenneth Marquez, interim dean of students, and Interim President Dave Svaldi handed certificates and pins to the students.

The Mortensen sisters were on the Vice President's Honor Roll, which requires a student have a 3.5 GPA or better in 15 credits or more.
