RAD seeking board members
Recreational After-school Doorway, an after-school program for middle-school aged children, is currently seeking potential board members and activity volunteers for the upcoming spring semester.
RAD has board meetings at 3:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at Craig Intermediate School.
Call Amanda at 824-7031 or Sherman at 824-0257 for more information.
Homeschool drama club plans spring play
"Heavenly Hollywood," the Homeschool Speech and Drama Club, will present three one-act plays for its spring production Thursday and Friday at the Craig Middle School auditorium, 915 Yampa Ave.
The group is in its third year, and club director Bonnie Reiman sees the production as "a big task for our small group," which has 12 members.
Reiman is confident in her group, which is performing for the first time in a large auditorium venue, but she knows "it will be a big step, with everybody doing double-duty as both actors and stagehands."
Reiman selected three plays from the 1940s. The show will open with the cowboy drama "Western Night," by Robert Finch and Betty Smith, followed by Spranger Barry's comedy "Cupid's Bow." The production will end with the biggest act of the night, the romantic mystery "Fog on the Bay," by Clarice Wardall.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Curtain time is at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
For information, call Reiman at 826-4427.
Groups gather books for Louisiana library
The Moffat County High School Student Council and Craig and Steamboat Rotary clubs have teamed up to raise money and gather new and used books for a public library in Houma, La., that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
The groups would appreciate it if the community would also help by donating books to this cause. Books may be dropped off at City Market, Safeway or the Moffat County High School main office.
For more details on books that are acceptable for donation, call Susie Lord at 824-7036.
