Look at all aspects

In response to "County employees overpaid": I also would likeo thank the Daily Press for providing the Speak Up section as it provides the community the opportunity to see beyond closed doors.

First, I would like to say thatnytime you become involved in politics, you are going to be disappointed.ost of us will agree that when it comes to being elected for a political position, the candidatesill promise the moon to attain the position, all along knowing that their promises will never come true.

Secondly, expecting anyone to work in this day and age to serve is a ridiculous thought. Itakes all we have and then some tourvive. I don't think anyone is gettingich. The shutting down of Shadow Mountain Clubhouse has proved no loss. After all, in a community of this size, we hardly have a need for three swimming pools.

If you think the county employees make too much money, why don't you take a long look at what it costs you as a taxpayer to send your child, grandchild, or whoever tochool. Have you ever thought about why it takes three teachers to teach one class; or why it takes three principals to operate one school building, or why it takes two 71-passenger school busses to go to Maybell to pick up 20 children? Too bad the school (district) doesn't have to publish its employees wages. You would probably have a cardiac arrest.

People of Moffat County, if we are going to point fingers, do not pick on just one part of the problem. Let's look at all aspects of county government including hospitals and sheriff's department, ity government and police department, schools, school administration and transportation department.

Not accountable

I was wondering why the articles in the Speak Up column aren't signed. I know it's not a letter to the editor, but nobody has to take responsibility for anything that they say.

No story?

At about 7:50 a.m. (March 2), almost all the town's emergency vehicles went pell-mell north, and yet there was not one piece of information in the paper regarding the situation. The intersection of Victory and Yampa was a near calamity, with all the emergency vehicles rushing through, and the idiots that couldn't bother to pay attention. We listen to the sirens all the time, yet the next day find no information as to the situation. I want to know. This particular incident seemed to be of major importance, yet we were given no information. You keep telling us the public needs to know. Well?

Editor's note: The Daily Press makes every effort to deliver the news to its readers. Daily Press staff responded to the accident March 2, but it was minor, and staff did not report on it.
