Dorothy May Hoth was born on March 9, 1928, in Wheatland, Wyo., to John “Jack” and Mattie (Hughes) Hoth. Dorothy spent most of her younger years on Cedar Springs Ranch near Maybell. She started school in Craig and later graduated from high school in Buena Vista.
