Concealed weapon permit course:
The criminal justice program is looking for students for another concealed weapon permit course. If 10 people respond, CNCC can host the course at an arranged date. It's an eight-hour course for $60 and 0.5 credits. This course is a prerequisite to apply for a concealed weapon permit in Rio Blanco County and will consist of four hours lecture and four hours shooting on the range. Those interested can call Amanda Martin at 675-3208.
Returning students need to complete "intent to re-enroll" form
CNCC students planning to re-enroll for the upcoming school year should complete an "intent to re-enroll" form. This form will be used to determine eligibility for scholarships for next year. Scholarships are still available for first-time attendees also. Both forms can be found at under applications and forms.

Activity calendar
July 11 and 18
4:30 p.m. July 11 and 10 a.m. July 18. Craig Campus college placement testing (Accuplacer testing). This test is required for all entering college students and Moffat County High School dual enrollment students. The cost is $10. Prospective students can call Robin at 824-1109 or Mindy at 824-1101 to sign up for the test.

9 a.m. Business/tax law seminar for cosmetology industry sponsored by the CNCC Cosmetology Center, 1280 Industrial Ave., Craig. Dorri Thompson will be reviewing business and tax laws concerning our profession. All salon owners, booth renters and employees are encouraged to attend. There is no charge. RSVP by July 19 at 824-2004.

Aug. 5 to 12
CNCC is sponsoring the Moffat County Fair. The fair is a Moffat County tradition that showcases efforts of our local youth to raise livestock and successfully complete 4-H and FFA projects as well as artwork and culinary delights by community members. This year's fair includes a kick-off with a "Battle of the Bands" and a concert by Snake Oil. Put a visit to the Moffat County Fair on your summer calendar now -- call 824-9180 for an event schedule. Aug. 24
6 to 9 p.m. The CNCC Community Appreciation Barbecue is at CNCC's Craig campus, 50 College Drive. The barbecue is to show CNCC's appreciation for community support and kick off fall semester. Food and drink will be provided.
