Treasurer auction nets $650 million for state
An auction Tuesday pumped $650 million into the state's coffers, State Treasurer Mike Coffman said.
Coffman sold the short-term bonds, called General Tax and revenue Anticipation Notes, in a competitive online auction.
The treasurer sells notes each fiscal year to help the state balance cash flow needs. The bulk of tax revenues do not come into the state until the following March and April.
The state will pay the money back within a year.
