7:30 a.m. Colowyo Mine and National Audubon Society host the fourth annual Bird Watching Event on the Yampa River at Big Bottom. Meet at the Holiday Inn, 300 S. 8 to 10:30 a.m. Huck Finn Fun Day is at Loudy-Simpson Park for children 15 and younger. Events include a fishing pole and costume judging contest, a presentation about safety and rules and a fishing derby. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Pastor Mark Bintliff ministers at New Creation Church in Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way, in recognition of the church's five-year anniversary.

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave., hosts a registration carnival for the church's vacation Bible school, which runs from Monday to June 9. The carnival will have food, games and prizes. Call 824-5222.

9 a.m. The Moffat County Weed Advisory Commission meets at the Cooperative Extension Office, 539 Barclay St. The commission will hear public comment from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Call 824-9180.

8 a.m. The Yampa River Junior Golf Association's junior golf clinic is at Yampa Valley Golf Course for golfers ages 5 to 8. It continues throughout the day for older golfers.
