Kum & Go launches 'Go Crew' summer promotion

Drivers shouldn't be alarmed if they pull up to a Kum & Go this summer and a red-clad person jumps out with squeegee in hand.

The squeegee-wielders mean no harm. They're part of the convenience store chain's Go Crew.

Go Crew members will wash windows, pump gas and hand out samples to customers.

Members also will make appearances at community events throughout the summer.

There are 16 Go Crews in the 15 states where Kum & Go is located.

In Craig, five people are part of the Go Crew -- Zach Haddan, Carissa Taylor, Chelsey Herod, Kim Maneotis and Carol Taylor.

DOW offers free fishing Saturday and Sunday

Colorado residents and state visitors will can fish without a license Saturday and Sunday as part of the annual Colorado Free Fishing Days.

The free fishing days are set aside each year for the first full weekend in June as part ofngoing efforts by the Colorado Division of Wildlife to introduce people to the sport of fishing.

"We want people to take advantage of this opportunity, held each year in conjunction with National Fishing and Boating Week, to try and get outdoors with their family and friends and give fishing a try," said Robin Knox, sport fish coordinator. "The more people we can introduce to the wonderful recreational angling opportunities we have in Colorado, the better it will be for Colorado's natural resources in the future."

During free fishing days, anglers without licenses will not be ticketed. However, typical bag limits, possession limits and other special fishing regulations remain in effect. Beginning this year, however, a habitat stamp will be required for those anglers who want to fish on a designated state wildlife area. Elsewhere, the habitat stamp will not be required to fish.

National Fishing and Boating Week is a nationwide effort to introduce people, especially families, to the fun of fishing. During this week, most states across the country have some free fishing days, hold numerous free fishing clinics and fishing events, and try to increase the public's knowledge of the value of healthy aquatic resources.

The DOW also produceseekly fishing reports.he stocking reportas a list of recently stocked waters where interested anglers can go to take advantage of the free fishing days. The conditions report contains angling information about bodies of watercross the state, ncluding water conditions and fishing techniques that are proving to be successful for recent anglers at those waters. The seasonal report highlights hotspots and events.
