Georgina Marie Horgas McAnally was born Aug. 7, 1949, in Ely, Minn., to George R. and Anna C. (Vertnik) Horgas. The family lived in Minnesota for a time and then moved to Arvada. Georgina was schooled there, graduating from Arvada West High School in 1967.
