BLM hosts presentation by Nature Conservancy

The Bureau of Land Management Little Snake Field Office in Craig will host a presentation Monday by officials from The Nature Conservancy.

Terri Schultz and Megan Kram of TNC will give a presentation on Conservation Action Planning from 1 to 4 p.m. The presentation will give the BLM a chance to learn about CAPs process and discuss its potential.

Bridge projects include repairs, replacement

The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Tricon 2 of Castle Rock are replacing the 70-year-old timber bridge about 1.5 miles north of Craig (at mile marker 93).

The timber bridge will be replaced with a concrete box culvert.

During the bridge replacement, scheduled for completion in mid-October, there will be a reduced speed limit and motorists will use a paved detour near the site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CDOT greatly appreciates motorists' cooperation and safe driving near the construction site.

Starting the last week of July, CDOT and Tricon 2 will also repair the concrete and steel girder bridge on SH 131 over Oak Creek, about 20 miles south of Steamboat Springs (and south of the Catamount area), at mile marker 51.5.

Work will involve repair of the sidewalk, rail, abutments and piers. A temporary signal will direct single-lane, alternating traffic over the bridge until the work is complete in mid-September.

The contract amount of the two bridge projects is $1.2 million.
