Craig Daily Press wins top newspaper honor

— The Craig Daily Press brought home 44 awards from the Colorado Press Association's annual convention Saturday night in Denver, including the top honor in its circulation category.

The Daily Press won the most awards given to any newspaper at this year's convention, including the 2005 General Excellence Award for daily newspapers with circulations of less than 10,000.

Bryce Jacobson, publisher of the Daily Press, said: "I am very pleased with the recognition we received at this convention. I am very proud of the staff of the Craig Daily Press. They work very hard each and every day for their readers and advertisers."

The Daily Press awards for editorial and advertising excellence included the Sweepstakes Awards for advertising, photo and design for papers in its circulation category and the Best in Show prize for its work on the "Crossing the Line" immigration series, a joint project with the Steamboat Pilot & Today.
