Mary Lenore Ball

Mary "Mickey" Lenore Arnold Ball, of Alamo, Texas, died Feb. 8, 2006, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. She was 74.

Mrs. Ball was born May 5, 1931, in San Francisco, Calif., the daughter of James Arnold and Hazel Cummings Arnold. She was the oldest of three children.

Mary attended Cathedral High School in Denver and Colorado State University. She married William S. Ball in January 1950 and had six children.

The couple lived in Cortez, Meeker and Burlington, as well as Fargo, N.D., and Alamo. Ball earned her teaching degree from Moorhead State University and taught in Pharr, Texas, for 11 years.

She enjoyed games and social events, particularly her weekly bridge sessions.

Mary is survived by her husband; a son, David Craig Ball, of Farmington, N.M.; daughters, Terry Scheierman (Rod), of Burlington, Vicki Kosch, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Charri McArthur (Larry), of Burlington, Kimberly Castro (Joe), of Italy, and Linda Taylor, of Lewisville, Texas; a brother, James Arnold (Melba) of Apopka, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Sear, of Denver; brothers-in-law, David Ball (Darlene), of Carson, Wash., and John Ball of Craig; a sister-in-law, Sonya Dunning (Warren), of White City, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were at 11 a.m. Feb. 15, 2006, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Craig. The celebrant was Fr. Jim Fox, organist was Elaine DeuPree, soloist was Joyce Miller, and the musical selection was "Amazing Grace" by Charri Gomez.

Pallbearers were Rodney Scheierman, Joe Castro, Robert Markham, Clint Markham and Justin Kosch.

Burial was in the Hayden Cemetery.
