William (Bill) A. Webb was born on July 1, 1922, in Fonda, Iowa, to William H. and Luella (Cusins) Webb.
Bill passed away on Dec. 17, 2006, in St. Marys Hospital in Grand Junction.
Bill grew up in Iowa, New Mexico and Wyoming before going into the United States Army in November 1942. He served in World War II, Merrill's Marauders in Burma.
After getting discharged out of the Army in November 1945, he lived in Wyoming and was a mechanic for the highway department.
In 1967 he moved to Craig where he worked on a ranch west of Craig. Then he moved into Craig where he worked various truck driving jobs and was a manager of a concrete business.
In Aug. 1967 he married Dorothy L. Simpson. In April 1970, Mary E. (Webb) Martinez was born to Bill and Dorothy Webb.
He is survived by Dorothy L. Webb, of Craig; daughters Mary (Stan) Martinez of Craig, Verna (Jack) Isbell, of Texas; son Dean (Susan) Webb of Wyoming; brother Lyle Webb, of Oklahoma; stepsons Jim Simpson, of Craig; Pat (Kathy) Simpson of Craig, Brian (Suzanne) Simpson, of Ohio; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-inlaw Alice Webb and his step daughter Kathy Combs.
Bill was a simple man, enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing and hunting with the kids. He loved to watch the Denver Broncos play football.
Memorial services were held Dec. 23, 2006 at the VFW in Craig.
