BLM February oil and gas lease sale info available
The Bureau of Land Management Colorado announced that information on its quarterly oil and gas lease sale is now available.
The sale scheduled for Feb. 8, 2007 includes 49 parcels covering 32,125 acres in Colorado.
The federal government owns mineral rights on 33 of the parcels, while private entities own the surface rights.
Lease information can be obtained at the BLM website at www.co.blm.gov/oilandgas/leasinfo.htm.
National BLM policy requires that all protests filed on nominated parcels include specific serial number/parcel numbers and be received by the BLM 15 days prior to the sale.
The BLM manages more than 8.3 million acres of public lands in Colorado, and less than one percent experiences surface disturbance from oil and gas activity.
