The Moffat County girls basketball team had its first hiccup of the season at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Chandler, Ariz., on Thursday night. The Bulldogs (0-0 league, 7-1 overall) fell 40-53 to Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, Calif.) during the Orange Division championship game.

"The team we played was good," Moffat County coach Craig Mortensen said. "We played sluggish."

Mortensen said that the final game of the tournament was a good learning experience for the Bulldogs, and he wished that the first three games would have been like the championship.

A full tournament report will be available in the Saturday Morning Press.
