The Moffat County Libraries Board of Trustees has openings for those interested in applying for the positions.
A resignation by Sharon Spalding has left an opening for a resident of Maybell to sit on the board, and the announcement that Jeff Foster is moving to Grand Junction has made available a seat for someone residing within the Craig city limits.
David Longwell, the county representative, is ending his term but has decided to run again. The county commissioners will decide if Longwell will retain the seat to be filled by a county resident for another 5-year term.
The Maybell position will be filled by a person appointed to finish an existing term, and will be less than a full 5-year term.
In other action at Monday's board of trustees meeting, the board's nominating committee selected officers for the 2007 year.
Cathy Gush was nominated and approved by the board to be the board president for the upcoming year.
Shirley Seely was approved to represent the board as vice-president, and Lila Herod was appointed as secretary.
David Longwell was nominated as treasurer, pending re-appointment to his seat by the county commissioners.
In other news, library director Donna Watkins would like to make a priority of replacing lighting fixtures in the library. The current fixtures are 30-years-old and new fixtures would be more efficient and brighter, Watkins said.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, someone slashed three of the tires on the library jeep. The tires were replaced and a police report was filed.
The next meeting of the Moffat County Libraries Board of Trustees is set for January 15.
