Alice Margaret (Ford) Cardinal was born March 19, 1914, to Anna Rose (Emerson) and William Montgomery Ford Jr. Mrs. Cardinal died Dec. 11, 2006, at Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab, in Craig.

Rosary was held Thursday and funeral mass took place Friday, both at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Craig. A memorial service and internment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge.

She had two brothers, William Montgomery Ford III and Edwin Ford who have predeceased her.
She married Paul James Wright in Louisville, Ky., in 1943. They operated a hotel in Cedar City, Iowa, for a time. They moved around for a number of years with Paul's job, then settled in Denver where Paul worked for the Brown Palace Hotel.

Alice taught school early in their marriage, and in Denver was a bank loan officer. aul preceded her in death in 1974.

She married Cecil F. Cardinal, in Jackson, Wyo., in 1985. Cecil preceded her in death in 1994.

Alice is survived by her cousin, who was like a sister, Marjorie (Emerson) Drake of Grand Junction; her children Kirk Drake and Shelli (Paul) Fazzani; niece Margaret Holford of Lakewood; nephew Joseph McTague of Arvada; two cousins who were like daughters, Pam (Bob) Wimer of Grand Junction and MaryBea (Larry) Neu and children of Craig, Colorado; three special cousins; great-grandchildren Kelton Montgomery, Chloe Alice and Rylee Kyle Villard; step-children, Don (Alma) Cardinal of Casper Wyoming, their children Linda Carter, Carla (Joe) Gennaro, Caryn Young, Ralph (Kellie) Cardinal and children; leo (the late Ed) Stevens of Moses Lake Washington and their children Pat (Tammy) Stevens, Pam (Carl) Warring; Irene (Bob) DeHuff of Sparks, Nev., their children, Brian (Shannon) DeHuff and Chris DeHuff. ousins Tom and Jack Griffin, Jake (Sara) Wimer, Lindsey (Micah) and Atahlia Mills. im (Terri) and children, George and children, and Monty Robertson. Beth (Tom) Gilchrist and children. Many step-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Although Alice had no children, she mothered any that she came in contact with. She was a gracious, elegant, timeless and caring woman.
