9:30 a.m. The Craig Book Club will meet at the Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. Erik Larson's "The Devil in the White City" is to be reviewed by Susie Began-Violette. Call Emily at 824-5456.

4 p.m. The Craig Poetry Group has its meeting at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. All local poets are invited to share cookies and verse. Call 824-3990.

6:30 p.m. Child Care Network, Moffat County School District and Moffat County Child Care Provider Association host a meeting about the development, implementation and expansion of community-based early childhood systems' request for proposals in the school board meeting room at 775 Yampa Ave.

6 p.m. The Northwest Chapter of the Colorado Outfitters Association has its December meeting at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13. All Outfitters are invited. Call 824-6939.

Friday, Dec. 15

5 p.m. Deadline to turn in applications for Christmas for Kids. Christmas for Kids' applications are available at United Way's 651 Yampa Ave. location. Applications can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Christmas for Kids is a way to help parents provide gifts for their children. Toys will be dispersed on Dec. 19 and Dec. 21 between 5 and 8 p.m. at the old Rent-X building, located at 1320 W. Victory Way. For more information, call 824-6222.

Saturday, Dec. 16

Wyman Museum Crafters, three miles east of Craig, is having a no-tax sale day.

9 a.m. Elk's National Hoop Shoot Contest at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 East U.S. Highway 40. Boys and girls age 8-13 can register at 8 a.m. before the shoot, or by calling Dora or Jody at 824-2251.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Moffat County Habitat for Humanity hosts a holiday home tour and free lunch at the project home, 745 Yampa Ave. Call Marilyn Bouldin at 824-5459.

1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Share Craig's distribution day is at St. Michael's Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.

2 p.m. The Elk's first annual cake walk takes place at the Elk's Lodge. Ten tickets cost $1. Children younger than 12 years old may participate for free. Call Dora at 824-2251.

1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Share Craig Distribution Day takes place at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.

5;30 p.m. The American Legion Christmas party and white elephant auction takes place at the American Legion Post. The event is for Legion members and their families. Take a covered dish.

6:30 p.m. First Christian Church presents a live nativity scene at the church, 960 W. Victory Way. The public is invited.
