All fifth- through eighth-grade students are invited to attend a parent/player meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Craig Intermediate School cafeteria. Any interested students must attend the meeting.

The teams will play in 3-on-3 leagues and will also have the opportunity to participate in AAU tournaments throughout Colorado and Wyoming.

Swimmers win six events at dual meet

The Bulldog swimming and diving team got the year off to a quick start winning six events at Grand Junction High School dual meet.

Taking top honors for the Bulldogs were Caitlin Conci in the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley, Kelsey Conci in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke, the 200-yard medley relay team of Caitlin Conci, Kelsey Conci, Meghan Innes and Sara Kurz, and the 200-yard freestyle relay of Caitlin Conci, Kelsey Conci, Innes and Natasha Romney.

Coach Marin Campbell said that she thinks the team surprised themselves with how well they did.

"I was very pleased," Campbell said. "Now it will be easier to target what we need to work on in practice."

Along with the first place finish in the 200-yard IM, Caitlin also recorded a personal best time of 2:24.53.

"I was really excited," Caitlin said.

The Bulldogs finished second as a team with 123 points to Grand Junction's 183 points, but Moffat County had no diving representation, while the Tigers had three divers to give them points.
