Kathleen "Robyn" Sipsey passed away Aug. 13, 2006, at her home. She was 44.
Robyn was born Jan. 10, 1962, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Robert Vemon and Karen "Jean" Grogan. Robyn graduated high school in Paso Robles, Calif. She moved to Craig in 1984, and this has been her home until her passing.
On April 9, 1994, Robyn married James Sipsey. They adopted a son, Julian Anthony Sipsey, on Dec. 29, 2003. Julian is now 10 years old. Robyn never had children of her own, but having the heart of a mother helped in raising the four children of her best friend, Diane Davidson. Davidson's children are Justin Johnson, Nicole Davidson, Danny Hedman and David Hedman. They loved her like their own mother. Robyn gave herself in many ways, including working as a CNA at the nursing home and her special ability as a counselor for Horizons Specialized Services for people with disabilities.
She had a passion for football and knew more about the sport and its players than most men.
She is survived by her husband, James Sipsey of Craig; son, Julian Sipsey of Craig; mother and father, Robert and Jean Grogan; sister, Rhonda (Barry) Toole; brother, Russell Grogan; and numerous nieces and nephews, who were all very special to her.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at Grant Mortuary with Stirling Davidson officiating. Musical numbers were "Yes Lord" and "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" sung by Leanne Gibson and Caria Watson.
A reception to celebrate Robyn's life followed at the Lutrell Barn. Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of First National Bank of the Rockies in Craig.
