A farmers market will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 19 to coincide with the grand opening of the Wyman Living History Ranch and Museum.

Organizers are seeking people who want to sell fresh grown products or hand-made items at the market.

Pagoda Store to open at Wyman's museum

The Pagoda store will open Monday at the Wyman Living History Ranch and Museum.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. Craft items will be sold in the store.

Golf tournament raises $2,014 to fight cancer

The Rally For a Cure golf tournament, held Wednesday at the Yampa Valley Golf Course, raised more than $2,000 for cancer research.

With 45 women golfing, the event raised $2,014 with $1,265 going to the Moffat County Cancer Society and $750 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

College students need to get vaccination

A special meningococcal vaccination clinic will be held from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, 745 Russell St.

Colorado state law requires that incoming freshmen residing in student housing be provided with information on meningococcal disease.

Meningitis is potentially fatal, causing infection of fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Meningococcal disease also causes blood infections.
