Today

The Craig Sea Sharks host the Summer Club Swim Meet through Sunday at Craig Swimming Complex. The lap pool will be closed. The wave pool will operate on a limited basis and on a special schedule -- 200 people per three-hour session. This schedule is first-come, first-served. Call the complex at 824-3015.

8 a.m. Yampa Valley Golf Course hosts the Hayden Centennial Golf Tournament. The tournament will follow a four-person scramble format and includes contests and prizes. Call 824-3673 or 276-3425.

6:30 p.m. Hayden Speedway races feature the MOD show. Races include Sport Stock, Street Stock, Super Streets and Modifieds.

Sunday, Aug. 6

2 to 4 p.m. The Happy Hands Crochet Club meets at 655 Ranney St. The group will make crochet towel holders. The public is invited to this free meeting. Call Mary at 824-2923.

Monday, Aug. 7

7 p.m. The Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program will provide a community update about efforts related to endangered fish recovery in the Yampa River Basin at the Holiday Inn, 300 S. Highway 13. Call (303) 969-7322.

Tuesday, Aug. 8

7 p.m. The fall meeting of the Craig Women's Bowling Association is at Thunder Rolls Bowling Centre, 990 Industrial Ave. The fall meeting for the Tuesday night league, Ladies Nite Out, will immediately follow. Call Eunice Linton at 824-9764.

Wednesday, Aug. 9

9 a.m. Rally for a Cure cancer benefit golf tournament is at Yampa Valley Golf Course. All women are welcome. The $35 entry fee includes lunch and prizes (does not include green fees and cart). For more information or to sign up, call Susan at 824-9656.

5 to 7 p.m. SHARE Craig, a program that offers low-cost groceries to residents, has a registration day at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.

Thursday, Aug. 10

10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries hosts story-time at the library, 570 Green St. The theme is barnyard banter. Everyone is welcome.

7 to 9 p.m. The American Red Cross meets at the Craig Resource Center, 485 Yampa Ave. New committees will be formed.

7 p.m. The Yampa Valley chorus of Sweet Adelines International meets at Sunset Elementary School, 800 W. Seventh St. New members are welcome. Call Ivy Davis at 824-5746.

Saturday, Aug. 12

11 a.m. An antique tractor pull is at the old Cosgriff lot at Russell Street and Victory Way.

Monday, Aug. 14

6 p.m. The football parents meeting is at the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane. All parents of students playing football should attend. Call 824-7036.

6 to 9 p.m. The Colorado Division of Wildlife sponsors a hunter's education class through Aug. 18 at Colorado Northwestern Community College's Craig campus. All five classes must be attended to graduate. To pre-register, call the Sportsman's Information Center at 824-3046 or 272-3238.
