April 24, 2006

The Craig Concert Association presents its fifth show of the season Friday evening.

Tin Roof Tango plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Moffat County High School auditorium.

The band of five musicians plays music from six continents from more than 25 acoustic instruments.

The group features Mark Shelton on percussion; Barbara Stafford on violin; Beth Shelton on oboe, saxophone and vocals; Jonathan Fisher on bass; and Mark Gowan on guitar.

The band's tour is called the "Big Acoustic World Show," and features music including an Irish jig, a Bolivian melody, Cajun and Celtic tunes.

Concert organizer Gail Petch said she is excited to bring Tin Roof Tango to Craig, especially because of the members' youth.

"This is a new group, and they're have a lot of variety and a lot of instruments," Petch said. "I just expect it to very lively and upbeat concert."

The concert is included in season passes to the Craig Concert Association, or tickets are available at the door for $15 or $10 for students 18 and younger.

Current season ticket holders who attend Friday's show can renew their membership then.

New season ticket buyers can buy their passes at the May 7 show of the Van Trapp children and attend that show for free.

Season passes are $10 for students, $30 for adults and $70 for families.

For the 2006-07 season, Petch said the association is changing its rules, so no guests are allowed. Everyone who attends concerts must have a ticket.

For information about the association or upcoming concerts, call Petch at 824-6654 in the evening.
