Car registration for this year's 18th-annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup is now open. The event will take place on June 15 to 18 and events will include a scenic mountain tour, an autocross at the Meadows lot and the Show 'n' Shine car show on Lincoln Avenue in Steamboat Springs. All cars must be pre-registered to participate in these events. Registrations for the Show 'n' Shine will be accepted until June 1. To register a car pick up a registration form at the Steamboat Springs Visitor Center or download a form from the web on www.rmmr.org. Call the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association at 879-0882.
Theater Group settles on new name
Black Mountain Theatre, formerly known as Craig Performing Arts Project, is announcing auditions for it's upcoming production of "Ladies of the Jury."
This Broadway success is a courtroom comedy in the tradition of James Stewart and Katherine Hepburn.
Set in a small town in the l920's, a jury is selected and a murder trial is held. An eccentric juror who uses unorthodox means to change minds, amusingly interrupts the dramatic proceedings.
This hilarious script calls for 12 men and 10 women. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25; Thursday, April 27; and Tuesday, May 2 at the Center of Craig Performances are planned for Aug. 4 and 5 and will be directed by Cindy Chotvacs. If you've ever wanted to try acting, this is the play for you with a fun script and a wide variety of characters.

Apply for help with heating bills by Friday
Colorado residents have until Friday to apply for help with heating costs before the program ends for the season.
The low-income energy assistance program, or LEAP, is designed to help people with heating bills during the winter in Colorado.
Since Nov. 1, the program has distributed nearly $43 million to Colorado residents, an average of $423 per recipient.
From May to October, while the LEAP program is inactive, energy assistance is available through Energy Outreach Colorado, a nonprofit organization that helps residents struggling to pay energy bills.

Event to honor former Maybell librarian
Community members are invited to a gathering in honor of Rebekah Vowels for her 21 years of service to Moffat County Libraries, especially her seven years as branch manager of the Maybell library.
The event is set for noon Sunday at the Maybell Community Center.
The Maybell Women's Club will provide ham, rolls, drinks and cake. Attendees are asked to take a salad or side dish to share.
Vowels requests no gifts or cards.
Cinco de Mayo festival scheduled for May 6
A local organization whose mission is to promote and support the successful integration of the immigrant and Routt and Moffat communities will host its annual festival in May.
Communidad Integrada's second annual Northwest Colorado Cinco De Mayo festival is scheduled for May 6 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the picnic area.
The goal of the celebration is "to bring together community members from various backgrounds in a fun, family setting while fostering the appreciation of the Mexican culture," according to a press release.
Communidad Integrada is seeking participation from area businesses, youth groups, organizations and individuals during the festival.
For $100, businesses can set up booths to sell food, games and products; the cost for families, church groups and nonprofits is $50.
Businesses and community members also may help sponsor the festival.
