Today is the deadline for Craig Youth Baseball, open to youths ages 8 to 18. A hat and shirt are included in the fee. Night-league teams are available for the following age groups: 8 to 10, 11 to 12 and 13 to 15. The season begins in mid-April with practice. Games begin mid-May. The fee is $40 for one player, $70 for two and $90 for three or more. Call Parks and Rec at 826-2029 or sign up at Craig City Hall.

Noon. All Red Hat Society members are invited to a luncheon at the Craig Fire Station. Take a favorite covered dish and drink. Call Toni at 824-2259 or Jaci at 272-3253.

5 to 7 p.m. SHARE Craig, a program offering low-cost groceries to residents, has registration day at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St.

Thursday, April 6

7:30 a.m. The Pipeline Group's annual "Public Education Contractor Awareness Program" includes a free breakfast inside the Colorado Room at Colorado Northwestern Community College Weiss Center, 500 Kennedy Drive in Rangely. 10 and 11:30 a.m. Story-time is at the Craig branch of Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St. Children will make books to celebrate National Library Week. Call 824-5116.

11 a.m. The presentation by Steve Potter of the Social Security Administration on Medicare and benefits has been canceled.

3:30 to 7 p.m. Parent/teacher conferences are at Moffat County High School. Report cards are available. Any report cards not picked up will be mailed. Call 824-7036.

5 to 7:30 p.m. Craig Sea Sharks, a swim team for youths ages 5 to 18, has registration at Trapper Fitness Center. Youths will order team suits at registration. Practice begins Friday. Call Kim Conci at 824-8841.

Friday, April 7

9 a.m. to Noon. Yampa Valley Partners' regional forum, "Living in a Community of Choice -- Act II: Anticipating Changes," is at The Center of Craig.

2:15 p.m. An assembly to kick off the Positive Behavior Support Program is at the Ridgeview Elementary School gymnasium.

4:40 to 8:30 p.m. St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St., will host a fish fry. Menu is beer-battered fried fish or oven-baked fish in a lemon pepper seasoning, French fries, homemade hushpuppies, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and warm bread pudding with maple syrup. Donations suggested are $4 for children ages 5 to 10 years old and $9 for adults. Children younger than 5 eat for free. Call 824-5330 for takeout.

7 p.m. The Steamboat Springs Chamber Orchestra performs Sounds of Spring 2006 concert program at the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors/students and $1 for children, available at the door, Colorado Northwestern Community College Bookstore, Museum of Northwest Colorado and the High Country Veterinary Clinic.
