2 to 4 p.m. The Museum of Northwest Colorado is hosting a book signing for "America's First Grazier," the biography of Farrington R. Carpenter, written by his son, Ed Carpenter. There also will be a photographic exhibit by Farringon's daughter, Barbara Carpenter. "A Sense of Place," is a photographic history of the Carpenter Ranch.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Golden Leaf Festival is in downtown Craig. Events include children's activities, live music, crafts and food vendors and competitions. The event continues Sunday.

Friend Day is at Faith Baptist Church in Meeker with special guest Kevin Wyatt, a former NFL player who played for the San Diego, the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also will speak during the church's Sunday morning and afternoon services.

Monday, Sept. 26

7 p.m. Moffat County Partners will sponsor the "Magic, Magic, Magic Show" at Moffat County High School. Children get in free. For more information, call Tara at 826-4261.

7 to 9 p.m. The Yampa River Basin Partnership's annual meeting is at at the Yampa River State Park headquarters near Hayden. The keynote address is "Our Yampa River." Eric Hecox and Frank McNulty of the Department of Natural Resources are scheduled to speak. Call 824-8233.

6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Yampa Valley Partners will host "Our Region, Our Future," the first of two sessions in its 2005 Regional Leadership Summit. The first session is at Centennial Hall in Steamboat Springs. The second session is Oct. 20 in Craig. The registration fee of $45 covers both sessions.

Monday, Oct. 10

6 p.m. There will be a freshman parents night in the Moffat County High School library, where parents can meet some of the staff as well as get information about the high school.
