The Moffat County Tourism Association still doesn't have a director.
Previous director Steve Miller resigned in July. Since then, the organization tasked with bringing tourism into the area has been trying to figure out how to replace him and what the new director's role will be.
"We don't even know what duties we expect them to do," said Richard Blakley, chairman of the MCTA board of directors.
MCTA, which gets funding from a lodging tax, hasn't advertised for the position yet.
Blakley said the group isn't sure what role the new director will play. He said the group has entertained a variety of options, including combining the position with the Economic Development Partnership director or the Chamber of Commerce, but the group hasn't found an option that works.
One thing the group knows, Blakley said, is that the position probably will be part-time.
"That's probably all our budget will allow," Blakley said.
When Miller was the director, Blakley said he took on a lot and the organization isn't sure what tasks the new director will continue to do.
"He kind of blazed a trail," Blakley said.
One of the main hurdles has been what the relationship between the MCTA and the Craig Chamber of Commerce will be. MCTA provides some funding to the Chamber for tourism promotion and to oversee the information kiosk.
MCTA board member Dan Davidson said the organization is looking at how the MCTA will work with the Chamber in the future.
Chamber director Annette Gian-inetti said whether the relationship between MCTA and the Chamber will change is up in the air.
MCTA doesn't have a timetable for when they will have a new director.
Board member Gary Cook said he would have liked to have had someone in place last month.
"We need one soon," Cook said.
He said without a director, people can't get in touch with the MCTA and turn their attention to the Chamber, putting undue pressure on them.
