Moffat County commissioners voted Tuesday to table discussion of an employee compensation plan.

The new plan could have a major effect on salaries for county employees, particularly employees who have been with the county for a long time.

Commissioners said Tuesday it would take too long to discuss the matter to make a decision.

There will be a special commissioners meeting Thursday dedicated to the compensation plan. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. Commissioners expect it to last about six hours.

Commissioner Darryl Steele said the meeting Thursday will give employees a chance to comment on the compensation plan.
