An inmate in the Moffat County Jail was issued a summons for assaulting another inmate.
Corey Huber, 24, allegedly hit another inmate in jail on Wednesday. The man has since bonded out of jail. He was originally booked into the Moffat County Jail on a warrant out of Jefferson County.
Jail Administrator Lt. Dean Herndon said he wasn't sure how the victim had been hit in the head. The victim alerted jail authorities about the assault. No medical attention was given or needed, Herndon said.
"There's a lot of times that things happen in back," Herndon said. "This is one we should have never heard about."
Herndon said deputies investigate assault allegations at the jail and determine whether to issue a summons.
