Nancy Ellen Crawford died Nov. 16, 2005, at her home. She was 57.
Nancy Ellen McDermott was born July 9, 1948, in West Point, Neb., to Victor and Jane McDermott.
Crawford and her family moved to Steamboat Springs when she was in third grade, and she finished school there, graduating from Steamboat Springs High School in 1966.
After high school, Crawford attended college at the University of Colorado for two years. She married Cecil Crawford on March 1, 1969, in Steamboat, and they made their home in Oak Creek, where she served as Town Clerk for 26 years. Crawford enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time at her home. She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Municipal Clerks Association.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil, of Oak Creek; daughters, Amy Crawford of Aztec, N.M., and Libby (Randy) Raisch of Grand Junction; grandchildren Cannon and Chloe; parents Victor and Jane McDermott of Grand Junction; sister, Linda (Tom) Nelson of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Jack McDermott of Wyoming, and Bob McDermott of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Nov. 22, 2005, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Oak Creek with Father Ernest Bayer as the Celebrant. Soloist was Christine Schmitz.
Selections were "Amazing Grace," "Shepherd Me O'God," "Be Not Afraid," "On Eagles Wings," and "How Great Thou Art."
Pallbearers were David Crawford, Cargo Rodeman, Bob McDermott, Jean Caouette, Lester Crawford and Nora Phillips.
Services were concluded at the church.
