Nomination sought for Wild Horse board
The Bureau of Land Management is seeking nominations to fill three vacancies on the national Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board. The vacancies the board intends to fill represent humane advocacy, livestock management and wildlife management.
The board advises managers for the bureau and the Forest Service on the management, protection and control of wild free-roaming horses and burros on public lands administered by those agencies.
Board members serve three-year terms, on a staggered-term basis, with one-third of the board subject to appointment each year. Any person or organization may nominate one or more persons to serve on the board. Individuals may also nominate themselves. Federal and state government employees are not eligible to serve on the board.
The board meets at least twice a year, and the bureau director may call additional meetings when necessary.
Send nomination letters along with resumes to the National Wild Horse and Burro Program, Bureau of Land Management, Department of the Interior, P.O. Box 12000, Reno, NV. 89520-0006. The resumes should be sent to the attention of Ramona Delorme. Contact Delorme by phone at (775) 861-6583 or fax at (775) 861-6711.
