James Lee Mounce II died at his home Oct. 30, 2005. He was 35.
James Lee Mounce II was born May 5, 1970, in Pickneyville, Ill., to James and Norma (Knapp) Mounce.
Mounce was raised and attended school in Craig, graduating from Moffat County High School in 1988. He lived most of his life in Craig, except for short periods in New Mexico and Yellowstone. He was never married. James worked as a deejay and was most recently store manager for Checker Auto Parts in Craig. He enjoyed being a deejay and collected medieval swords and weapons of the time.
Mounce is survived by his daughter, Shayleigh of Craig; father, James Mounce of Chicago; mother, Norma Cowger of DuQuoin; sister, Debra Jean Mounce of Craig; brothers Robert (Lena) Mounce of Craig, and Adam Mounce of Chicago; stepmother, Margaret Mounce of Chicago; stepbrother, Donald Drowns of Chicago; stepsister, Tracy Jett of Hammond, Ind. and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Nov. 5, 2005, at the Fairgrounds Pavilion in Craig, with Tony St. John officiating. Cremation followed the service with interment of his cremains in the Craig Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Mounce, Tony Mounce, Chris Cromer, James McCoy, Mark Wade, James Petree and Bill Rice.
Honorary pallbearers were James Mounce, Tony Hillewaert, Lonnie Streeter and Justin Shinn.
Memorial donations may be made to a Memorial Fund for his daughter, Shayleigh, in care of Checkers Auto Parts in Craig.
