Charges reduced in Monday's methamphetamine bust

A judge Wednesday threw out methamphetamine distribution charges against two of three people arrested earlier this week during a raid by narcotics agents at a home in Craig.

Chastity Renea Suazo, 23, and Skyler Wayne Elwess, 31, were charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Monday after officers reported finding them in a storage shed with meth and marijuana.

Elwess' charges were reduced to petty possession of marijuana and paraphernalia possession, and he was later released from Moffat County Jail.

Suazo was not charged with anything but remained in jail Tuesday on a parole hold.

Jay Christopher Vatalaro, 25, was charged with a class-three felony for possession with intent to sell meth and possession of more than one ounce of meth.

Vatalaro has been charged with numerous drug offenses in the past, according to Colorado judicial records.

Vatalaro is being held on $50,000 bail.

Leslie Dawn Knight, 50, was also arrested during last week's raid. The judge charged her Wednesday with felony possession of methamphetamine. She has since bonded out of Moffat County Jail.
