Residents will see several new faces at this year's Grand Olde West Days event.
Actually, they'll be old faces.
Characters portraying David Moffat, Butch Cas--sidy and Sundance will be roaming the streets Monday as well as participating in performances throughout the day.
The Craig Chamber of Commerce, the Grand Olde West Days Committee and the Museum of Northwest Colorado have joined together to bring the Grand County Characters to Craig. The group performed last year and enjoyed it so much that they asked to come again.
In preparation, the group has created a new performance.
"This year, we've been working on a special presentation just for the Grand Olde West Days festival," said Dave Naples, the group's leader. "It's a piece about a couple of old-timers reminiscing about the bad old days."
The piece is called "Butch and Sundance: The Later Years."
It will be performed at 2 p.m. Monday at the museum.
The Grand County Characters will also portray David Moffat and Mrs. Moffat during a 1:15 p.m. performance at the Marcia Car.
Grand Olde West Days committee member Carol Wilson said she missed the Grand County Characters performance last year, but would be sure not to miss it this year.
"I'm going to make sure to catch at least one of their performances this year," she said. "Last year, they came over, had a great time and want to come back again."
