11 a.m. Queeda Mantle, author of "The Mantle Ranch," will be at a book-signing at Sprirt Pass in the Centinnial Mall until 3 p.m. The book is a fresh glimpse into the intriguing history of the Mantle family and their ranch in the Yampa River Canyon.

Noon Cinco de Mayo celebration will be at the Moffat County Fairgrounds until 6 p.m. The public is invited to come and enjoy the festivities.
5 p.m. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary hosts a family-style free dinner for senior citizens at the VFW, 419 E. Victory Way, the first Saturday of each month. Proceeds from VFW bingo helps sponsor the event. Call 824-7145.
6:30 p.m. The Militant Labor Forum Hall, 11 W. Victory Way, is hosting a forum on workers rights, freedom of the press and the right to free speech. The guest speaker is Tamor Rosenfield. A dinner and reception will be held after the speaker. A donation of $8 a person is requested.

9 a.m. There is a Mother's Day breakfast at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St., sponsored and served by the Knights of Columbus after 9 a.m. Mass. The cost is $3 a person except mothers and children younger than 12 eat for free.

10 a.m. The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering immunizations every Monday and Friday. New clients should bring in their records 24 to 48 hours before their appointment dates. 9 a.m. Moffat County Pest Manage--ment in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Inspection Service, and the Plant Protection and Quarantine will sponsor a free one-day workshop relating to rangeland grasshoppers and Morman crickets. The workshop will be held at Shadow Mountain Club House.
