10 a.m. Children's story-hour is held at 10 and 11 a.m. each Thursday morning at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Library, 570 Green St. Call 824-5116.

Noon In observance of National Prayer Day, there will be a prayer gathering around the flagpole at the Moffat County Courthouse.

6 p.m. Craig Sea Sharks meet in the Moffat County High School cafeteria. Coaches will be present, registration will need to be completed, and members will receive schedules. The team also will be ordering team swim suits.

6:30 p.m. There is an advanced weather-spotter training class at the Moffat County Fairground Pavilion until 8:30 p.m.

6:30 p.m. Northwest Colorado Energy Producers are hosting a dinner meeting at the Steamboat Yacht Club, 811 Yampa St. Tickets are $29 a person. The guest speaker is T. Wright Dickinson.

7:30 p.m. A special presentation by the NASA's Educator Astronaut Program and the Network of Educator Astronaut Teachers (NEAT) will be held in the Moffat County High School auditorium. This program is for all ages, and the public is invited.

8 p.m. Al-Anon, a support group for family and friends of loved ones afflicted with alcohol abuse, meets until 9 p.m. at 50 S. Ranney St. Call 824-7320.

Friday, May 6

9:30 a.m. The community playgroup for infants to 5-year-olds and their parents meets until 10:30 a.m. at the Early Childhood Development Center in the Moffat County School Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave.

10 a.m. The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering immunizations. New clients should bring in their records 24 to 48 hours before their appointment dates. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by their parents or present a signed permission slip from a parent. Medicaid recipients should bring their cards. Call VNA at 824-8233.

11 p.m. Queeda Mantle, author of "The Mantle Ranch," will be at a book signing at Sprirt Pass, in the Centennial Mall until 2 p.m.

2 p.m. Queeda Mantle, author of "The Mantle Ranch," will be at a book signing at the Museum of Northwest Colorado until 5 p.m. This fresh glimpse into the intriguing history of the Mantle family and their ranch in the Yampa River Canyon.

Saturday, May 7

9 a.m. Hands-on Quilters are sponsoring a special Quilt History Day with members from the Colorado Quilting Council. Those interested in having their quilts documented should plan to attend. To schedule an appointment, call Cheryl Bush at 824-2567.

Noon St. Michael's Catholic Church is hosting its annual Mother's Day luncheon, which will include a fashion show. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite salad and come to celebrate motherhood. Call Mary Buchanan at 824-5912.

5 p.m. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary hosts a family-style free dinner for senior citizens at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 419 E. Victory Way, the first Saturday of the month. Proceeds from VFW bingo help sponsor the event. Call 824-7145.

Sunday, May 8

9 a.m. There is a Mother's Day Break--fast at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St., sponsored and served by the Knights of Columbus right after 9 a.m. Mass. The cost is $3 a person, except mothers and children younger than 12 eat free.
