Members of the Yampa Valley Ladies Golf Association are busy preparing nearly every type of salad imaginable.
The Lettuce Feed You Luncheon, set for Friday, will feature as many as 60 kinds of salads, made by members of the organization.
"All of us mem-bers buy two to three different large salads, then the club makes a big chicken salad we're becoming famous for and people look forward to," Pres-ident Phyllis Virden said.
This is the 20th year for the event, which earns the club about $2,000 for their projects each year.
The club helps the high school girl's golf team and landscapes the golf course each year.
Virden thinks community members started coming to the event to support the organization, but not anymore.
"Now people come for the food and the company," she said.
The meal includes all-you-can-eat salad, a dinner roll, deviled eggs and water, juice or coffee.
Virden said there will be pasta, rice, Jell-O and vegetable and fruit salads, in addition to the typical lettuce salads.
Leftover recipe books from last year's event also will be on sale.
The luncheon is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday upstairs at the Elks Hall on Victory Way.
Tickets are $7 for adults, and children younger than 6 are admitted free.
"It's best for people to get tickets beforehand, because we don't sell tickets at the door unless we have a few left over," Virden said.
They are available at American Northwest Realty or through any Ladies Golf Association member. For tickets or more information, call Virden at 824-6403.
