William (Willy) Pete Georgiou, lifetime resident of Craig, died March 18, 2005, at his home. He was 44.
Georgiou was born Aug. 27, 1960, in Craig, to Pete Nakos Geor-giou and Hazel Marie Geor-giou.
Georgiou gra-d-uated from Moffat County High School. He grew up working the family ranch. He worked for the Sheriff's Department in both Routt and Moffat County until his father's death, when he quit law enforcement so he could devote himself to the Georgiou family ranch.
Georgiou met Michelle Percival in 1982.
They were married July 18, 1987 at the Georgiou ranch. Their son, Dario Nick Georgiou was born June 12, 1994.
After selling the family ranch in 1994, Willy and his partner, Art Crane, opened a general contracting and big game outfitting business, which catered to both his professional and personal passions. Family meant everything to Willy, especially Dario.
Wildlife was an important aspect of Willy's life.
He instilled his love of the outdoors into Dario.
Willy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and construction. If anyone ever needed help, he was the first to volunteer.
Georgiou is survived by his wife, Michelle; son, Dario Geor-giou; mother, Hazel Gonzales of Meeker; brother, Nakos (Lau--ree) Georgiou; nieces Jenn-afer Georgiou Crain and Kaitlyn Georgiou; nephews, Tyke Georgiou, and Maximiano Larralde and Peter Larralde of Greeley, and Chad and Alec Goodrich of Grand Junction; great niece, Arianna Crain of Craig; sister and brother-in-law Argie Georgiou and Sebastian Larralde; father-in-law, Robert L. Percival of Green Valley, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Don Percival of Boulder; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Chris and Brian Goodrich; and a multitude of friends, near and far, who will sorely miss his presence.
Memorial services were held March 24, 2005, at First Christian Church.
Interment will be at the Georgiou family cemetery, north of Craig.
