- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint’s semi-annual conference of the Meeker Colorado Stake this year is having Elder David E. Sorensen of the Presidency of Seventy as the visiting general authority from Salt Lake City. He will speak at 6 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. Sunday at The Church of Jesus Chnst of Latter-day Saints in Rifle, 849 Marrow Drive. Visitors are welcome. Elder David E. Sorensen was called to be member of the Presidency of the Seventy on Aug. 15, 1998. In this position, he serves as a general authority and acts under the direction of the First Precidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in assisting with administration of the church.
