Comunidad Integrada is looking for volunteers to help stage a Cinco de Mayo celebration in Craig on May 7. Those who want to be involved are invited to attend a series of planning meetings beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Boys & Girls Club. Organizers are looking for sponsors, food vendors, musicians and traditional Mexican folkloric dancers. The group plans to meet on Sundays until the celebration. Organizers include Isidro Que-zada, Alvaro Landa, Rosa Almaraz, Guadalupe Quezada, Gerardo San-chez and Cody Reed. Call 846-5521.

In the article written by Rob Gebhart in the Craig Daily Press dated March 15, 2005, I was amused by the comments from Moffat County Land Use Board member Burt Clements, who stated that he knew of an unnamed resident who had threatened to “build a fence across County Road 10 which runs from Brown’s Park to Rock Springs, Wyo.” if the county loses its fight concerning the Bassetts’ private property. This is probably one of the most ridiculous statements I have heard concerning this issue. Unnamed sources should be given no credibility.
