News briefs for March 16
The American Pool Association League pool tournament scheduled for April 1, 2 and 3 at the Popular Bar has been changed to the following weekend, April 8, 9 and 10. Call Susan at 824-2095.
Youth Service Awareness Week set for April
April 15 and 16 are National Youth Service Days and the following week is Youth Service Awareness Week. The Boys & Girls Club of Craig is going to participate by doing a couple of service projects.
On April 15, the club will be cleaning a nearby park. On April 16, members plan to do a small project with another nonprofit group. Club organizers are looking for another project for the following week. If you have a suggestion, let us know by calling 826-0411.

Bulldog Youth Baseball
Registration for Bulldog Youth Baseball is open. Registration forms can be picked up at the Boys and Girls Club, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40, or Craig Physical Therapy, 533 Yampa Ave.
This program provides summer baseball for youths ages 8 to 18. The deadline is April 8.

Lettuce Feed You Luncheon set for April 1
The 20th annual Lettuce Feed You Luncheon is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 1 at the Elks Hall on Victory Way and is sponsored by the Yampa Valley Ladies Golf Association.
Tickets are $7 and may be purchased from any member or at American Northwest Realty.
MCHS driver education class begins Tuesday
There will be a driver education class offered at Moffat County High School starting Tuesday.
Students must be 15 years old by June 1. Class starts at 6 p.m. and will meet in room 310.
Call the high school at 824-7036 to sign up for the class or show up at the first class to register.
Tryouts for Cutthroats begin next week
Baseball tryouts for the Colorado Cutthroats traveling youth baseball team begin next week. Craig and Hayden boys ages 11 and younger as of Aug. 1, 2005, are eligible.
This is a traveling team. Call Mark at 824-2522 or Tim at 276-3443 for details.
Boys & Girls Club open during spring break
The Boys & Girls Club will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. during spring break. No transportation will be provided.
Snacks will be served, but children should bring a sack lunch if they plan to stay all day.
Members are free, and nonmembers pay $10 a day. Call 826-0411.
RAD gets $10,000
Daniels Fund grant
The RAD After-School program received a $10,000 Daniels Fund grant for after-school programs.
The Recreational After-School Doorway is a safe place where area youths in grades fifth through eighth can go after school to participate in activities that help develop the assets needed to become responsible members of the community.
The program also offers students an opportunity to develop and explore new friendships, life skills and their hidden talents.
The Daniels Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need.

Apply now for Grassland Reserve Program
The deadline to apply for the Natural Resources Conservation Service's FY 2005 Grassland Reserve Program is March 25. The Grassland Reserve Program is a voluntary program that helps landowners restore and protect grasslands and rangeland while maintaining the areas as grazing lands.
There are several enrollment options, including permanent and 30-year easements and long-term rental agreements.
Landowners interested in participating in the GRP should contact the local NRCS office at the USDA office, 356 Ranney St., or call the office at 824-3476.
Children's health fair
set for end of month
A free children's health fair sponsored by the Moffat County School District Child Find Team and Early Childhood Center will be March 31 and April 1 at the EDC, 775 Yampa Ave.
The developmental screening is for children younger than 5 years old and includes speech, cognitive and motor skills, hearing, vision and dental screenings. The Lion's Club will conduct vision screenings, and a nurse will be available to review immunization records.

Philanthropy Days returns in September
Northwest Colorado Rural Philanthropy Days is coming back to the region for the first time in four years.
This year's event will be held Sept. 11 through 13 at the Inn at Silver Creek in Granby.
Registration begins in April. Call Nicole at 857-9838 and watch www.grantfoundation.com in the coming months.
FBI alerts public to recent e-mail scheme
The FBI is warning the public to avoid falling victim to an on-going mass e-mail scheme wherein computer users receive unsolicited e-mails purportedly sent by the FBI.
These scam e-mails tell the recipients that their Internet use has been monitored by the FBI's Internet Fraud Complaint Center and that they have accessed illegal web sites.
These e-mails did not come from the FBI.
Recipients of this or similar solicitations should know that the FBI does not engage in the practice of sending unsolicited e-mails to the public in this manner.
Opening e-mail attachments from an unknown sender is a risky endeavor as such attachment frequently contain viruses that can infect the recipient's computer.
The FBI strongly encourages computer users not to open such attachments.
The FBI takes this matter seriously and is investigating.
Users receiving e-mails of this nature are encouraged to report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center via http://www.ic3.gov.
