Bob Wieland describes himself as "just a nice guy;" a good cook with a great sense of humor.

"I am a pretty happy person, most of the time, and I like people," Wieland said.

Wieland has been divorced for five years and said he doesn't like it much.

"I call myself a survivor," he said. "And I admit I am looking for a wife. I liked being married and the companionship of having a partner," he said.

Wieland has been in Craig for about a year and a half since moving from Mesa, Ariz. He said the thing that impressed him most about the community is its friendliness.

"It is that everyone here is so genuine, and friendly -- go out of the way to be helpful," he said.

Wieland said he likes it here a lot better.

"Well, for one, the scenery is better around here and fewer people," he said.

He said he visited here often over the years because he has a cousin who lives here.

"I always liked the area when I younger and used to hunt and fish," he said.

"So when I needed to move, Craig was my choice."

Bob, now retired, was a convenience store manager for more than 20 years. He said it was the perfect job for him.

"There was always something to do," he said. "And I found it met so many interesting people from all walks of life."

Wieland said he was surprised that Craig had so many of convenience stores.

"It seems like a large number of stores for the size of the town, but they must all being doing pretty good because they're still open," he said.

Bob likes hanging out with friends, watching videos and NASCAR races.
