People who want to start a business but are unsure about how to do so soon will be able to get all the information they need to know.
The Small Business Dev--elopment Center of Craig will be offering a free workshop about business start-up from 1 to 4 p.m. July 13 at The Center of Craig, located at Yampa and Sixth Street.
"We hope somebody shows up that really wants to start a business," said Chuck Wagner, a consultant for the development center.
Wagner said the seminar would focus on the intricacies of opening a business, such as marketing, costs and time management.
"To run a business, you really have to know your market," he said.
Wagner said many people who start a business don't realize how much time is needed to run it successfully.
"(Running a business) takes a lot of time and perseverance," he said. "It requires several more hours than a regular job."
Cathy Vanatta, Chamber of Commerce director, whose last day is today, said the development center provides a great service to people who want to open a business.
"I think it's always good for us to have these types of things," she said. "If people want business education, we send them to the development center."
Wagner said that the business start-up workshop, the third in a set of workshops, is a great thing to bring to Craig because there are many people interested in owning and running their own businesses.
Vanatta said this workshop is not only beneficial to people looking to start a business but also helpful to people who run businesses.
"There are funds out there that a lot of businesses don't know are out there," she said.
Wagner said he is looking for business owners in Craig to participate in the workshop and to give information about how to run a business.
"Any businesses that want to relate some experiences should let us know," he said.
