The Trappers Lake Sierra Club is presenting Anna Herring of Craig with its 2005 Environmental Leadership Scholarship.
The scholarship covers all travel expenses, tuition, room and board. Herring will fly to Pere Marquette State Park in Illinois for a one-week leadership training.
The Sierra Student Coalition, an independent arm of the Sierra Club, is a youth-run organization. Every summer, the coalition offers college and high school students the chance to learn various leadership skills. The topics offered include campaign planning, organization skills, communication and environmental issues.
Herring recently graduated from Moffat County High School, where she was involved in Student Council and the RAD after-school program. She was also part of the track team.
