Business people, nonprofit employees and community members may benefit from advice by an author who plans to speak in Craig.
Bob Littell, author of "The Heart and Art of Net Weaving" is offering a lunchtime presentation June 22 at Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion that should offer helpful tips about how a community of businesses can work together, Chamber of Commerce Director Cathy Vanatta said.
"A lot of the things he does is to get community and nonprofits to work together," Vanatta said about Littell. "I think we do that anyway, but he has a lot of good ideas about how people can work together."
Littell, the creator of Littell Consulting Services and Second Opinion Services LLC, has been featured in a number of publications, according to his resume. His philosophies on business focus on the concept that he developed called "Net Weaving." The idea is to use skills to connect people and provide resources to people with the belief "that what goes around comes around," Littell's resume states.
Craig resident Pres Askew said the presentation is applicable to anyone who works with the public.
"It's really geared toward businesspeople or anyone in a position that could do better by having good relationships with other people," Askew said. "It would work well with generating new customers and keeping current customers. Most of us in a business or public setting deal with people all the time. This presentation will give people a better plan to help get organized."
Askew helped to bring Littell to town for the event that is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Costs for event are $10, which is about half the cost usually charged. A brown bag lunch will be provided.
Askew said that Littell will have books for sale at the event. All proceeds from the books, which are $20, will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, Askew said.
"In my mind you're going to pay about $10 for lunch anyway," Askew said. "If he's no good, you're going to have lunch. If he's good, you got lunch and got to hear a good speech."
