The winning streak is over for the Moffat County Legion Post 62 B-team.
The Bulldogs, a team of Moffat County High School players 17 and younger, had won 15 consecutive Legion games before meeting up with Thomas Jefferson Brown Post 1 in the second round of the Denver B-League tournament Friday.
TJ Brown broke the streak with a 7-4 victory.
"We had a couple of tough innings," coach Bob Satterwhite said. "Three errors are what cost us."
The Bulldogs produced three errors in the fourth inning, which allowed TJ to score five runs.
"We just kept extending the inning," Satterwhite said. "You could just feel it wasn't going to be pretty."
Moffat County senior-to-be Bryan Wojtkiewicz gave up two runs in the third and two earned runs in the fourth for the loss.
Junior-to-be Bryan Richards continued to crush the ball. He hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning for the Bulldogs' first runs.
Brad Grinstead had an RBI in the fifth, and Chris Winder had an RBI in the sixth.
"We only had two strike outs the whole game," Satterwhite said. "We hit the ball hard just right at people."
The Bulldogs had scoring opportunities stopped in the first two innings when TJ Brown rolled double plays.
Next up for Moffat County is Denver East Post 1 at noon. The Angels beat Thomas Jefferson Gold, 13-5, on Friday. The Bulldogs swept East, 7-6 and 14-4, in the regular season.
The Bulldogs need to win two games today to advance to the championship game and to earn a berth to the state tournament. The top two teams from the tournament move on to state.
