The youth group of the First Christian Church is seeking requests for service projects for the elderly, needy, or others in connection with the 30-hour famine outreach project. The labor is free, and materials will be provided by the project hosts. Projects will be evaluated by Pastor John Graler and his staff. If you have a project or work that you would like considered, provide a description of the project and a contact name and phone number. Requests must be received by Feb.15. Notifications of project selections will be made by Feb. 20. The projects will commence on Feb. 27. Requests can be made by e-mail at craigfcc@craigfcc.org or by calling 824-6024.

Capitalism 101: This is in response to all the hoopla about Wal-Mart. It seems there is a need for an explanation of how a free market-driven economy works. The standard of living in the United States is much higher than other countries because of capitalism (an economic system of private ownership of capital) and a market-driven economy.

The Board of Trustees for Yampa Valley Medical Center will begin a comprehensive review of the hospital’s air ambulance program in the wake of a crash that killed the pilot and two hospital employees.
