I would urge everyone to read the 2005-2006 Community Indicators Project Report, particularly page 80, the grant distribution page.
In 2004, Moffat County garnered $344,934.00 in grants, while Steamboat took in $625,989.00. Steamboat takes seriously the procurement of grant dollars. I would ask the Mofatt County Board of County Commissioners to do the same.
I would like the B.O.C.C. to follow the recommendations given it last year, to hire a full-time assistant and to hire one with plenty of grant-writing experience.
Let's make grant procurement a priority for this term. Stop leaving money on the table.
